Mother's Day Reflection

Let me share to you one memorable experience I had with my child that made her realized how much I loved her very much. And this is the story...

After all the chores I asked my daughter to do during the day, she gave me some sort of a bill ( just like in a restaurant)

for washing the dishes P' 50.00
for watering the plants 50.00
for cleaning my room 100.00
TOTAL P' 200.00

I smiled and made my own bill and gave it to her.

for carrying you in my tummy for 9 months FREE
for feeding you with my own milk FREE
for taking care of you FREE
for giving you good education FREE
for giving you a baby brother you requested FREE
for loving you unconditionally FREE
TOTAL NO CHARGE

After she read the bill, I received not only a discount from her but a free of charge hugs and kisses. I know I made my point. To this day, my daughter Mikhaila, especially my son, Rainier gives me hugs and kisses everyday. And I always say, I love them beyond the stars...A never-ending love. AND THIS IS MY STORY. Happy Mother's Day to me and to my mother and my mother in law and my friends who are now mothers and to all the mothers in the world.

the continuation...my high school life

Whew ! I am back. So, so, sorry for those who waited for the continuation of my story. Got loads of reviewers to make for my son's periodical exams plus the fact that I have to be there for him to review those papers. And so, to continue...

High school life for me was not that exciting because I was the type of person who goes to school and goes right back home after a whole day of school work. I have different sets of friends though because I was friendly. I am not choosy in selecting who my friends will be but I have 3 best friends in my first year. We eat our snacks together during recess time and chat a while as time allows, but that's about it. Lunchtime at home means hot soup that is why I make sure I eat my lunch in the house since it is near the school. I really love hot soup. During our dismissal in the afternoon, I do not stay longer in school because I intend to do my assignments once I get home..imagine, we have to memorize 20 words in our vocabulary, scientific names of plants and animals, etc. My friends would tell me to stay awhile but I would insist on going home since I easily get tired. During my second year, if I still remember it right, our group, meaning, my 3 best friends and I got separated because we went to different sections. Of course, I made new friends easily. I love Biology. During the third year, I hated Algebra so much. I was having a hard time understanding the concept of this subject. It was my first time to get a grade lower than 80. But in my fourth year in high school, I made a turn around because I got really good grades in all my subjects including trigonometry plus the fact that I got 100% scholarship in one of the university in our place. I gained one friend who I missed so much because she is in the U.S. right now fighting cancer. I was planning to take up a computer course in college but the university that gave me the scholarship did not offer the course, so I decided to enroll myself at the Ateneo de Davao University. Did I take the course?

My Story

When I was a little girl, I remember living near the sea. I watched every fisherman pass by, hiding as I call them. I must admit I was naughty sometimes. I would also visit a neighbor who just delivered a baby, and because he/she was so cute I would pinch him/her and the baby would cry. I was 4 years old then. You would think I was such a brat but I am a nice innocent little girl.
I started kindergarten when I was 6. I do not like going to school. I cried as I watched my mother leave and I always ran after her. I am afraid of nuns because back then they wore gown-like dresses up to their feet..they looked like angels but they also looked like white ladies. I was so so afraid but mind you, I got over it after a month.
In 3rd grade, my teacher got me to represent our class in a singing contest. I had no idea why she chose me. I just thought, maybe I have a good voice.I have to memorize a song entitled "IF". Sadly, I had a hard time memorizing that song, that is why my teacher did not expect me to win. During the contest proper, surprisingly, I sang the song very well. I knew my teacher was proud of me and she expected me to win the 3rd prize.. the rest is history.
During 5th grade, I started to realize that I was having a hard time seeing what was written on the blackboard. I did not get to wear eyeglasses until I my 3rd year in high school because I never told my mother about this problem. It was also in 5th grade that my father decided to go abroad. He went to Indonesia to work. I remember waking up every morning crying because I missed my father so much. I was his little darling, I know, well, including my little sister of course. I was my father's little princess.
In 6th grade, I was so happy that he arrived for my graduation.

Milcah saves the day

I started my day as usual. I prepared my son's bath, uniform, breakfast, etc. I settled down a while when I arrived from Ateneo after bringing him there. I ate breakfast supposedly with my daughter but she's still preparing herself. How about my husband? Sadly, he ate ahead of me because he is busy himself with the computers. Housewives sometimes feel alone especially in times like this, but I bet they understand.. like me.. So, I open my blogsite and there I saw that I've got a new friend named Milcah..sounds familiar.. I told myself. I knew it! She's a friend and a classmate of my daughter and now my friend too. I replied to her message and she did too. How's that for a start? I am never alone, I thought I was, because it seems everybody's busy. Well, to Milcah hang on..Life's a bit unfair, but with your family beside you, like me, you will never be alone. Good luck, anak! Hope to hear from you soon.

Missing my one & only princess

I missed my daughter already the minute she told me she's going on a retreat yesterday. She will be back tonight. I did not get too much sleep last night because she's not beside me and I was thinking about her. You see, she sleeps with me and my son. One good thing with retreats is that she is going to miss me too. I bet when she's back, she is going to hug each one of us very tight and will always be reminded from this day on to always say "i love you", the way she used to. Her brother also misses her very much because since last night he keeps on asking about when she'll be back. Of course, the father misses her too..she is his one and only princess.

hello

Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog site. I never imagined myself being taught by my daughter how to create my very own blog site. At this hour of the night, I am supposed to be sleeping. Doing all the household chores by myself is very tiring but because I am very excited to make my first post, here I am still alive and kicking. I am a wife and a mother of two. My daughter is 19 and my son is 9. As I've said, I never imagined my daughter teaching me all these because for many years, I became her tutor as well as to my son now. I pictured myself as "the only one who knows" but now it's the other way around..it's my daughter and son who now knows especially when talking about The computers, The internet and well, How to be a blogger...I may sound too old not knowing all these things but I definitely am amazed on how these things came about. In fairness, my husband and I have backgrounds on computers too, but, you know, times change.. what we learned during our time was different from todays technology. I wanted so much to learn what my daughter does in her laptop every minute of the day and I guess, this is one of them..how to be a blogger. So to you my new friends, and to more friends to come, please visit my site every now and then and help me learn.
